Edit: Thanks for the suggestions, I revisited the formatting too.BV is back. I don’t think the new format will affect my standard climbing approach, so there’s that.Today’s BV solo belongs to Calem. He is one of the more deceptively useful F2P Sync Pairs. Calem can buff Speed, Sp.Atk and heal. He has Psybeam with Aggravation 1 + Thunder Wave and his sync boosts in power when the target is paralyzed. When Calem was launched during the co-op era he was regarded as absolute trash because most boss mons were immune to Paralysis and Confusion. I myself cringed when I saw people bringing Calem against Marshall EX. This sort of remained the case until the introduction of his grid which turned Calem into a gauge generating tanking monster.2/5 Calem has three key advantages: Trainer Move Master Healer 2, Pump Up 2 and X Speed Pep Rally 1. Starting at 417 base Speed is already insane and the fact he gives Speed support and a full gauge recharge per sync means Calem can upkeep gauge for the slowest team compositions. Think something dumb like Hapu + Solgaleo. Now, with Trainer Move MPR 3 and MH2 Calem has an extremely reliable and cost-effective self heal so he can unironically tank thanks to his insane recovery rate. Meowstic is very squishy with 578/133/152 bulk but it can be mitigated with defensive tiles and buffs. He is still prone to getting sniped by powerful attacks though.Calem’s Tech utility also can’t be understated. Thunder Wave is 90% accurate so it’s not exactly reliable, unless you give him the Troublemaker 1 Lucky Skill, but he pairs extremely well with units like Clair and SS Cynthia. He provides the Paralysis Synergy multiplier they need and permanent gauge to spam attacks.3/5 Calem could be an absolute monster. At the moment he is impossible to get because it requires a full 5* Tech Candy but it would unlock Paralysis Synergy 5, Confusion Synergy 5 and Fuzzy Strike 5 for awesome offensive multipliers. That’d be a scary sight to withhold. I know most new players can’t have 2/5 Calem but when given the opportunity you should prioritize him: he is an extremely good unit and one of my favorites.I stream Pokémon Masters sometimes: https://www.twitch.tv/zinfogel
